SAT score or GPA?
Hey there! Long story short I want to go to college while my kids are little so when they get into Kindergarten I have a degree to get back into the work force yet. Haven’t 100% decided on my degree choice just yet. I was always a very bright student, usually A/B average, that is until my junior/senior years of high school. They were particularly rough years for me. My mother was extremely sick and eventually diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer which quickly progressed to stage 4 and even quicker than that ended in her death. At the same time I was homeless because of her disease and my father’s drug addiction and I tried my best to keep up my grades but at the end of the day I was living with my niece in an RV park while my mother and father stayed at my sister’s house to be close to her doctors. I would have to take my niece to daycare everyday, go to school, leave school and immediately start my shift at the daycare. I had to work so she could have her daycare and so I could keep a roof over our heads and as much food on the table as I could seeing as how expensive my father’s habit and my mother’s medications were, we were basically on our own. All that being said my GPA plummeted to a 2.0. So I was wondering if anyone had any tips to over come this? I was wondering if I study hard and get a good SAT score would that, combined with my ACT score (which was high, I just can’t remember exactly what it was off hand) help over shadow the low GPA???
*sorry if this isn’t the right group, wasn’t sure which one would suit this post more.*
