Born at 35 weeks 💕

Jessica

Our baby Arabella Parker

Born on 16th of December 2018. We got to take her home almost two weeks later from the nicu on the 28th of December 🙌🏼. It seemed like we were never going to leave I don’t know how mummy’s of super preemie babies manage it !

It’s so so hard having to leave your baby at the hospital I didn’t cope well at all not having my bump or baby but she was here but not with us. I was allowed to stay the first week until she was transferred to a children’s specialist hospital the second week.

She was born due to my cervix opening at 32 weeks and although on medication my waters went at exactly 35 weeks and they could not prevent labour it was safer to give birth.

My waters went at 1:45 pm and we got to the hospital at 4pm as the pain was just too much I was dialating too fast. We live in Germany and the only pain medication you could have takes at least an hour to get into your system or an epidural. I didn’t want the epidural however by 5pm I was begging for the epidural as the IV was not working at all yet and I was I. So much pain. When the midwife checked me to see how far I was I was 8cm!! So too far for the epidural now and at 17:48 Arabella was born.

This was such a shock to me with no pain

relief as I had my first daughter in the UK with gas and air... brilliant !

I’m glad it was natural now because I remember everything I like with my oldest daughter. But I also will never forget that pain 🙈😂

I had pregnancy diabetes so she needed help stabilising her blood sugars. No help breathing thanks to the steroid shots at 32 weeks!

Also jaundice levels were too high so the light therapy was needed for a week.

Other than this we have a beautiful healthy little girl.

We are so thankful for the medical staff that work around the clock to take care of us and our babies when they come so early ♥️
