Who planned your baby shower?

FTM here and I’m a bit confused on how a baby shower is supposed to go. Is someone supposed to plan it for you or is it something you do yourself?

My mom and MIL are planning mine. Won’t let me help.

Seven years later (different partner) my SIL approached me almost 2 weeks ago saying she wanted to throw me one. 
From what I've read on here it just depends honestly 🤷🏻‍♀️

My best friend (I've known her since she was 2 days old and I was 9 months old, our moms were best friends) is planning mine. The thing we had was when i had a baby she planned mine, when she has one it's on me.
