Unexpected compliment

I was grocery shopping this afternoon with both kids after I picked them up from daycare, little Luke asleep in the baby carrier and Tanner watching my phone ( I know, terrible habit but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes). I was headed towards the milk and this elderly gentlemen (maybe early 70s) and I crossed paths. I thought maybe I cut him off so, naturally, I apologized. He looked at me and said “hey Mom, you’re doing a great job” and gave me the sweetest smile. It really touched me that this complete stranger who saw me for a total of 15 seconds said this. I’ve never had anyone that I don’t know say this before. I think as moms, FTM or experienced moms, we all need a little reassurance every once in a while. After all, we’re all just doing the best we can to raise our babies!
