Possible Ovarian Cyst? Gyno Advice?
Hi Glow community! I’ve used this app for a little while, just to track my period mostly.
I never really contributed much to other people’s posts and discussions, but I now think I have a problem. And I apologize, it’s a long one.
I take a lot of walks, and for a while I recently noticed that after walking for about an hour, I get a pain on the lower right side of my pelvis, basically where an ovary would be.
It begins to hurt when I bend that leg at the hip, so much so that I have to limp. The pain also doesn’t really go away for the rest of the day until I sleep it off.
Does this sound like it could be the result of an ovarian cyst? I know it’s not a matter of sore muscles from walking as it only happens on one side in my pelvis.
Many of you might recommend I see a gynecologist, and that’s the plan, but I’m embarrassed to admit that I am afraid.
I’m 18, not sexually active, and have fairly normal periods, and therefore have never been to the gynecologist and never really planned on going until I was 21, as recommended, if all remained this way.
I’ve never been naked in front of another person, and I use pads as tampons are uncomfortable for me. I’m so afraid of getting checked out at the gynecologist, I don’t even know how to explain it.
Any and all advice is appreciated! Please help me be reasonable about this and lessen my anxiety.
