Trigger: I’m pretty sure that I’m losing my baby.

Two days ago, I woke up to cramping and bleeding. At 5.4 weeks, they say it’s normal but we went to my OB to be sure.

They found the gestational sac but no baby. They said it was probably because it was too early.

They took my blood to measure my levels in two days to make sure they’re doubling.

After I got home, I passed some tissue.

I knew it couldn’t be good. I wasn’t getting my hopes up or down.

I took a pregnancy test and it came up positive, like it typically would even during a miscarriage. Then took another this morning and they look the same. I was expecting it to get lighter with it being a miscarriage.

So that gave me hope.

I kept bleeding and cramping and was hoping for the best after reading stories where women would bleed heavily and even pass tissue and be okay.

Well then my doctor called...

My progesterone was at 3.12 and HCG was 1,218

They said this indicated possible miscarriage but they want me to go in to make sure the HCG is not rising.

I’m devastated. My sweet husband is so sad and came home from work early to snuggle and comfort me.

What’s making this bearable is my son’s smiles and giggles. I’m so thankful I’m not going through this without a child.

I know God has a plan. What’s crazy is...

The night before waking up to blood...

I told God that if anything were to happen to my pregnancy or if I were to lose my baby in the womb in late pregnancy, to just let it happen now. Sooner than later. I prayed that before I fell asleep.

So even though we are mourning the loss of our angel baby, we trust that God is still in charge of this whole thing. (No religion debate please)

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is it even possible for levels this low to grow? I know I shouldn’t get my hopes up...I guess I’m just curious.
