Baby sleep training

My daughter is 10 months old. She started sleeping through the night at 3 months but started waking up again around 8 months. Our pediatrician suggested sleep training where you put her in the crib, tell her goodnight and go to sleep, give her a pacifier, leave, come back after 5 minutes if she is still crying, don’t pick her up but comfort her, and then leave and repeat until she goes to sleep. I can’t decide how I feel about it. She will be completely asleep in my arms then start screaming as soon as I put her in the crib. I know she needs to learn to put herself to sleep but I feel so bad walking out on her. Will it affect her trust in me? What are y’all opinions?
