Hospital, always. 
I had a normal, easy pregnancy. 
When I went into labor, my platelet count dropped. Luckily, I was already there for an induction, but had been having contractions for 4-5 hours previous, so they let nature run its course for a few hours. My admit bloodwork and 2 hours later was a huge drop. I then received a platelet transfusion otherwise risked clotting issues
After my son was born, I went to use the restroom 1-2 hours later and blacked out, then my bp skyrocketed. 
Postpartum eclampsia. They say it’s rare, and no one in my family has had it. But also unpredictable.

Where I live it’s more of a birthing center style maternity ward in the hospital, and it’s most midwifes and pediatric nurses there. Always obgyns on call, mainly for special cases or breech babies.

delivered my first at a birth center, will do so with all of my babies, so long as we're low risk.
