Need advice from a guy

So I’ve been talking to this guy we FaceTime anytime he possibly can and we both flirt very obviously but then on the other hand he’ll make comments on how he went on a date with a girl and telling me how he is on dates. He even went on a date recently but ig it didn’t go well. Do any of you know if maybe he’s just trying to get a feel of what kind of girl I am or maybe trying to make me jealous to see if he likes me. He’s not really the type to play with my feelings but I mean I can’t let my guard down what do you think?
