Starting convos?

So I have been in a relationship for almost a month (Ik it’s not that long) but I’m rlly happy with him. We met at a basketball game and he gave me his # and we talked for a while and then he asked me out. We go to different schools so it’s kinda hard to meet up, but we might meet up this weekend. And when we text, I always have to start the conversations. Yes, he answers rlly quickly. Yes, Ik he cares abt me. But it’s just so awkward bc I hate starting conversations bc I’m already awkward enough. And then when I don’t text him for a while he says “how has ur day been” and we talk. But tbh I’m too scared to text him on my own so I only start a convo once a day. Ik we r both always on our phones but we only talk like 2 times a day. Ik it is awkward in the beginning of a relationship.. but this is the first guy I have ever loved. So I was wondering what u would do in this situation, and if u have any starting conversations?🤷‍♀️
