Is it safe to Tavel with baby in a Car seat?

We want to go visit my family now that he’s 3month old. The drive would be 6 hours. Is it safe cause I heard about the baby that died while sleeping in the car seat

As long as you take breaks along the trip and get baby out of car seat for a bit (every 2 hours) you should be fine. There is likely more to that story.

It's not recommend for them to sleep in the car seat unless in the car because the base props it up the proper way. The one I read, they left the sleeping baby in the seat when they came home and the baby slumped over and suffocated because it wasn't at the proper angle. Don't put anything in the car seat that it didn't come with, no coats, and take breaks often and youll be fine to travel with baby

Car seats are meant to be in the car. The only instances of asphyxiation I’ve heard about is when their sleeping outside of the car. It’s due to the car seat not being in the proper angle, which is why that ball and weight thing on the side is extremely important when installing.

I personally would wait until my baby had good head control and would want an adult to be in the back seat monitoring him the whole way. Positional asphyxia is a thing and totally preventable.
