Flowering bush/shrub or large plant suggestions

Looking for flowering shrub/bush or large plant suggestions to plant up against my house this summer.

There are currently just plain green shrubs planted and I hate that. We live in a woods so my mindset is I am surrounded by enough green already with the trees, grass and fields nearby. I want something with flowers and that preferably blooms from spring-fall or at least spring-late summer in Indiana. I’m currently considering Russian sage or hydrangeas. I need something that does get fairly large, as I will have other plants that have to potential to reach 2’ planted in front of whatever goes up against the house.
