Packing for a long flight?

Question

How do I bring some formula on the plane? And how do I pack it into my bag? Can I put the full can into my bag or should I transfer it to another container?
Will I be able to bring my baby bag onto the plane? I’m using disposable diapers for the plane 
Can I bring toys for him?
If i got him his own seat (he’s 10 months) should I be able to bring my car seat on the plane?

The best resource for these answers will be the website of the airline you are using. 
I have used 3-4 different airlines and they all have similar policies, but some have been a little different. 
For formula, you can buy either a formula dispenser or what we did was put the powder in the bottles first and buy bottle water or use the fountains in the airport. 
Most airlines allow you to use the car seats on the plane, if they are approved for air travel. Honestly though I’d try to get the money back on their seat. The pressure changes and ear popping baby will want to be held. 
You are typically allowed 1 personal item and 1 carry on. Some flights the diaper bag counted towards those. And some it didn’t. It’s an airline specific policy.

You should be able to bring the whole container of formula. They might just take it out to look at it but I’d leave it in the original container so it doesn’t look suspicious. We just took our daughter in a plane. She was just shy of 2 so we had her as a lap child but if you get them their own seat you can bring their car seat on. You also get to check a car seat and stroller for free and a diaper bag doesn’t count as a carry on so you can just bring that too

Look up the direct airline website. Nearly always, you can bring 3 oz bottles of formula that are pre-mixed, or you can just bring the powder and they’ll get you water bottles on the plane. I know when we flew (I think it was Delta), my diaper bag couldn’t be a separate item, I just had to use it as one of my two carry-on bags, which was fine. I just packed what she needed, and a few extras of mine in her bag so the rest would fit in my purse.

Formula is allowed in “reasonable quantities”, per the TSA website. If it is above the normal liquid/powder limits, it may need to undergo additional testing. 
Check with your airline for exact baggage allowances. But in my experience if baby has their own ticket, they qualify for their own allowances (carryon and/or personal item). 
Toys should be fine, assuming they fit in your allowed baggage. My advice is make sure you have things that are easy to grab if dropped, as in not a ball that may go rolling to the back of the plane. Stuff that can be strapped to the car seat is ideal. And be mindful of others and avoid toys that make lots of noise. 
If the baby is sitting in their own seat, they are required to be in a car seat. And I hightly recommend getting their own seat, it is safer and more comfortable. Just make sure your seat is FAA approved, there should be a sticker on the seat.

I flew with the whole can. I also forgot I had a full water bottle in the bag for a bottle on the ride if needed and they let me take it through.  We did being in a bottle with formula and they just waved something over it and let us go. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time

I think carseats need to go under the plane if I remember right as for formula with the laws being you cant bring any liquid over 4 ozs I think so maybe look on the tsa website just to be on the safe side since they are always changing things around
