Anyone have anything to say on a water birth?

I really want a water birth as I have never liked the idea of pain medication and have really bad back and hip pain to begin with and was told epidurals can make that 1000% times worse after the fact.  I want to do a water birth at a hospital (my hospital just introduced them in 2017 so yay!!) and was wondering if any of you fine ladies have some opinions on your water birth and if you’d recommend :)

Loved it so much the first time I had a second one. It was a great relief for my pregnancy related hip pains during my last birth

I can’t say for the actual birth but I laboured in the tub and the contractions were so much better in warm water. That combined with counter pressure from my husband and midwife really helped. I ended up getting out of the tub for the actual birth because I was too exhausted to hold myself up anymore, but if I had a shorter labour it would have been a lot less intense to be in the water.

Had a water birth back in October! It was awesome, the pain relief was immediate. It was a beautiful experience

Loved it! #3 will also be born in the birthingpool if all goes well!
Just make sure you don’t go in to early during labor, so you can have a full effect of the water. Only go in when contractions get really strong and you are at least around 5cm dilated. This is what they advised me and it was great. 
Took on most contractions in the shower (only backlabor) and after a while they became so strong it was so hard to relax between them, i got in the pool: AMAZING!  I was able to relax way more easily and almost immediatly went from 4cm(with really strong contactions) to 10cm and pushing baby out, in 30-45 minutes. I pushed 3 times. The water was so nice and i was able to relax, let my body ‘float’ without resistance and found the contractions way easier te handle.

The warm water was great and the birth was everything I ever wanted. I feel so blessed my second labor went so well, with my first it was totally different. I hope you get to enjoy a water birth too! I will definitely plan to deliver our 3rd the same way!

I very much recommend water birth for managing pain. I labored and gave birth in the water. After an hour of pushing in the water my midwife had me get out for a bit and after a minute I begged to get back in. The pain out of the water before he was even crowning was so much more intense then the actual birth in the water (which was intense enough). The water was very comforting and the pressure of the water helped a lot too.
