I have been broken up with my ex for almost 4 years now, we have an almost 6 year old together. From the beginning my ex has been around very very little. I have tried multiple times to get him to understand that he needs to be consistent in his life but he doesn’t stick with any kind of schedule to see him or even call him. A couple of years ago he disappeared for 5 months and didn’t see or call him at all and when he came around again I told him that couldn’t happen again and that he needed to start seeing him at least twice a week and if he couldn’t he needed to call/video chat with him. He was seeing him at least once a week for a bit but then he started skipping weeks again and not calling. Recently almost 5 months ago now he disappeared again no explanation of anything he stopped sending money for him and I haven’t heard from him in almost a month now so I went ahead and filed papers with the courts for child support and to get sole custody. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this and how it all worked out? I am freaking out and thinking of every scenario I don’t know how these things work or how they rule I guess I don’t know.
