Does $16 an hour qualify for Medicaid?

Hubby got a job that had insurance, the insurance would be almost $300 a month for us. We all already have full coverage so I don’t see the sense in it when we’re barely scraping along now. He’s convinced we need it, I feel it’s throwing away money. Am I in the wrong?

If you already have full coverage, I wouldn’t get more. Especially when money is an issue. 300 isn’t adding a small expense

Do you have Income as well? What’s your family size? Those are both factors. It may be worth applying to see if you qualify

If your employer offers insurance and it’s determined to be “affordable”, you may lose Medicaid. I wouldn’t hide this from your case worker though. By not reporting, you’re committing fraud and risk the legal consequences. You need to report that insurance is offered at his place of employment and submit all of the supporting documents/paperwork/etc for that.

It would probably get denied because you will need to add both of y’all since y’all are married. If you don’t, that will be committing fraud.
