Thyroid issues?

Question

Anyone on here have thyroid problems? (Hyperthyroidism, hypothyrodism...) I had a blood test done for the hyper, but levels were just above or below(can't remember) the normal level.  Everyone in my family has one of the other. Lately I have been extremely tired, headaches all the time and get very sick if I don't eat every few hours. This all happened before but has gotten 10x worse. It was a bout 8 months ago I had my blood drawn, should I go back again?

I've had hypothyroidism for most of my life... It runs deep in my family too.

I get blood work every six months to make sure the medicine is still working. 8 months, wouldn't hurt. Doctor may not require it for a year but...proactive is better than wishing you'd checked sooner!

Thyroid is one of the blood tests that could be done frequently and show something different everytime. Your thyroid plays a large roll in your body, especially with fertility. If you are actively trying, I would make sure you get tested soon.

My sister has hypothyroidism since she was in 5th grade, she is 26 now. She's been taking an organic product called Kyani for 3 months now and she's never felt better in her life. I also have hypothyroidism. But I think I have finally found the right dosage with my meds. I had all the symptoms before getting diagnosed: unexplicable weight gain (despite good diet and exercise), hair falling a lot, very tired, etc. It makes a difference once you are treated. I recommend doctors who check Free T4 and Free T3 along with TSH. Good luck! More people than one realizes have thyroid issues.

I have hypothyroism. I take meds which keep it under control. If im off the meds. Im very tired, constantly get sick, brittle nails, sensitive to cold and my cycle is longer.

I have hypothyroidism. I've had it for about 14 years. When levels are normal, it is basically a non-issue. But it is imperative to get your levels where they should be. Now pregnant, I'm tested every month. Otherwise, it's every year since I was stable. When thyroid issues go untreated, they can cause lots of other problems later on. So just talk to your doctor and see if they can order blood tests often enough to make sure that your levels are stable.
