Would He understand?

Question

Someone posed me with this question today: if your husband beat your child, would you divorce him? Would God understand even though the Bible says you should only divorce if they cheated or else you would be committing adultery?
This is hypothetical, especially since I’m only 16 and waiting until I’m married to do anything sexual and have children.

I believe that there is always a way out of the bad. Send the child to live with a family member, or a church member. Get your husband to help or else invite help to the home. Maybe he would listen to a man he respects who would tell him that these certain things are not right.
IF THESE ARE POSSIBLE. I know sometimes they are absolutely impossible...if these things I mentioned were impossible, I would take my child and leave until I could get my husband help.
I think this is one of the reasons that we are called to marry fellow believers in Christ.

That would be cause for separation until your husband seeks counsel, repents, and takes HUGE steps to change. If there is no repentance and he strays (adultery) during separation, then and only then are you able to divorce. 
Our main goal in life is not to put our children first; our main goal as Christian women is to honor God and keep His commands. Our children are not above God or the commands He has set in place for us, in any situation. God hosted divorce and always desires repentance and reconciliation no matter what the circumstances are. Separate, seek Godly counsel, and pray that your husband repents and returns.

Yes he understands. You’re children’s safety and well-being are most important. You are their protector and their only protector. I’m speaking from the child’s point of view. My mom didn’t leave my abusive step dad for 6 years and the abuse left me incredibly damaged. By now I’ve sorted through the trauma with a therapist and am living a lifestyle that’s healthy for me, but the years after we left were almost more painful than the years before.

oh my, Obviously child abuse would be a reason to leave because the bible also states only follow a leader going in the right direction.  But bottom line, if your(in jest, not you specifically) children are being beat and you even hesitate leaving because of fearing God won't forgive you, then you should re think priorities because they aren't straight
