Opinion about liberal feminism?

This is not my personal opinion, but I saw it and thought it would bring on a good discussion. So what do you guys think? Is it true/false?

This is only true if you believe women have no agency in controlling their sexuality. I do not believe that. 
There a weird trend I’ve noticed where people seem to think a woman being sexual or embracing her sexuality in any way, voids her political statements. It’s inaccurate and insulting.

That is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read. First of all “liberal feminism” isn’t a thing. It’s called feminism and it’s the movement to make equal rights between women and men. No one wants anyone to be objectified. We want better representation so that when a young black girl grows up she gets to play with barbies that look like her or so that a young Muslim woman feels represented in government.

I don't even see how that is feminism. 
Body positivity is about loving your body as it is and when it changes. Where feminism is about equal rights and opportunities regardless of gender, race and socioeconomic backgrounds. 
To me, it sounds like people are trying to justify their own shitty behaviour under the guise of a positive label. 
As a plus size woman I will say body positivity has helped me learn to love my body for what it is and own my sexuality in a way that is for myself. Where feminism had taught me that everyone deserves equal rights and opportunities.

I guess I feel to each their own. I don’t think objectifying yourself ends well, no matter what you look like. Beauty, whatever you define it to be, is fleeting. If beauty or sexuality is what defines you, I imagine that is a lonely life in the long run. In my opinion, your attention is better spent on learning new skills, building projects, or growing relationships that mean something. But life is certainly more entertaining with all sorts of lifestyles and choices, no matter what you look like.

Can’t say I totally disagreed.  I have been hearing more and more about “ liberal feminism” I didn’t know this was an actual thing.

I don't really consider that being feminist. That has more to do with loving your body. At the same time, though, you shouldn't be showing your sexuality just to make guys want you. Showing sexuality is ALL about loving yourself, wearing what you want & are comfortable in, & fuck anyone who tries to bring you down bc they're insecure assholes. It's also about being able to look sexy without fear of harassment, assault, or rape. Feminism is more related to topics like maternity leave, equal pay, & equal rights.

This makes no sense. There is nothing wrong with a woman wanting to show her body. I’ve honestly never seen people specifically telling skinny white women over any to stop being sexual. They generally complain about any woman being sexual. 
But that’s an issue in and of itself because women should be able to do as they please with their bodies and not be harassed for it.
Second topic this touches on is why are skinny white women hyped as much when they are sexual? Well honestly, it’s not new and not out of the norm for them to be viewed as sexy so it’s not as difficult for them to get a platform as a bigger, black woman or older woman. By hyping one person it’s not bringing another one down. 
One thing people these days need to learn and for my sanity learn it quick is just because you talk about one issue or just because you celebrate one body or just because you embrace a movement, doesn’t mean you’re automatically hating on the opposite of that topic. Unless of course it’s an actual hate movement but you get my point I hope.

I don’t understand, how is showing body positivity objectifying anyone? And what does it have to do with feminism?

It seems really hypocritical to me...in one statement, feminism is about eliminating the patriarchy and it’s about empowerment and equal rights, and specifically women taking control of their power and lives. It’s also about ending the sexual objectification of women. But in the same breath, this person is bringing up the point that with women of color, it’s almost a right of passage and praise worthy when they’re objectified for their curves and sexual prowess. The person brings up a point because this is true for the women who have only a certain body type (typically curves, big boobs and butt). Literally there are people who downgrade skinny girls, and in the same breathe they’re saying “yaaass Queen” when someone curvy posts a photo or wears certain clothing. It seems like the opposite of what feminism is/should be.

Personally, one of the most important aspects of feminism is a woman’s right to choose. To choose what they wear, what magazine they appear in, etc. It’s not constantly policing the choices of women.  With the exception of those who make decisions that actually curtail freedom of choice. Telling someone she can’t be feminist and appear in Playboy is like saying a feminist can’t wear makeup, or stay at home with her kids.
