Sleep training....
My LO will be 6 months on Saturday and I just have that feeling it’s time to sleep train my baby. I had the bad habit of putting him to sleep in my arms with a bottle. I dreaded the moment I felt was time to begin. He is my third baby and you would think I could handle it but I honesty don’t know how it will go. My first son was so easy. He practically did it on his own. My second was awful and took so much time for him to finally catch on.
How is everyone else doing who has started to sleep train their baby’s?
Update: 30 minutes after this post, first night of attempting sleep training is a success!! Every baby is different and I might not have the same luck tomorrow. When I heard my baby cry a little harder I went into the room, told him it’s ok and rubbed his belly just a little bit. When he stopped crying, I walked right out. He did a little whine for a couple minutes and then he was quiet. 🤭 does this mean, we succeeded the first night?! He does sleep in a pack and play and he has a little night light and it plays lullabies and nature sounds. I put the lullabies on for him which I think helped because he is used to falling asleep with noise. If anyone is wondering, I do plan on doing just the night training for a couple nights and then start the naps on my day off from work. Hopefully when we have that all down, he will sleep so much better at night. I felt he was ready to sleep train because of how irritated he was getting with me trying to put him to sleep myself. Although I give him a bottle and usually falls asleep, he has been spitting it out. Hopefully, that’s my cue he is ready.
