How early can you give a pacifier?

Question

Haha I’m still at the hospital but would love some rest and baby girl off my boob for a bit. 
Would you introduce a pacifier? She does suck her thumb a bit and I dunno what I prefer? My eldest had pacifier but we did not introduce until later when I was desperate. 
I hear thumbs are harder to get rid of and could lead to dental issues?

I gave my son one when I got home from the hospital. Just Bc I wanted him constantly on my boobs to help my milk come In. Then once it did I gave him one. It’s really just a personal preference for you and baby. I gave my first born a paci at the hospital and that didn’t hurt my supply. Just whatever you want to do!

I introduced a paci to both of my babies at 2 days old. Neither have had nipple confusion. I think it’s a myth! Haha. It deff provides relief when all baby wants to do is suckle.

Mine takes a paci occasionally but loves to suck. More often then not I give him my pointer finger, because he seems to like that 10x more than any of the pacifiers I have tried. I introduced the paci our second day home, my poor boobs needed a break.

I gave my daughter one on day 3 and she took it just fine.  I also read an article about pacifiers being self soothing techniques, so just think of the positive benefits.  
My dtr takes one type just fine, but spits out another so I wonder if they don’t except the first whether it’s worthwhile to try a few diff types before throwing in the towel.

You can give the baby a pacifier asap. My daughter is now 6 weeks old and is still having a hard time sucking it. I try to give it to her at night to get her to sleep in crib. Not working lol

I gave my son a pacifier at 5 days, and since I'm breastfeeding I got him one that is shaped like a nipple instead of the flatish ones.

I had my son on Friday, and he latched on perfectly almost instantly. So I introduced the paci today. He's trying to get the hang of it still but i need some relief on my nipples 😩

We introduced one in the hospital, he has a great sucker on him though. He doesn’t seem to care whether it’s my nipple, a bottle or his pacifier. He isn’t obsessed with it but it does keep him busy during diaper changes and like after he gets his supplemented bottle at night. If daddy is putting him to sleep he uses it, I will usually put him to sleep on the boob. 
The lactation consultant almost threw it away and made me feel like a terrible mom but we use it anyway. Like I said he’s got a good sucker on him...

Neither of my first two kids would take a paci - we introduced them at a few weeks old. So this time I’m planning to introduce as soon as she has a decent latch - hopefully in the hospital still LOL

No advise here. My baby is 6 days old and doesn’t take a pacifier. Lucky for me she goes on the boob and falls asleep right after and sleeps for a few hours.
