Group B strep?

I went to my OB last week and they called today to say I tested positive for group B strep. Anyone else experience this in their first trimester? I didn’t have this with my daughter so not sure what to expect. Started antibiotics today and have to take them 4 times a day for 7 days.

I’ve never been tested until about 36wks or so. Odd they would so soon.

Yes, it can be found in your urine at any point in pregnancy. Even if you come up GBS negative at the end of pregnancy they’ll likely still treat you prophylactically during labor with abx as if you’re GBS+.

I did with my son, they will also give you medicine when you deliver

My midwife said it can come and go that’s why they don’t test until the end. It would only harm the baby possibly if you gave birth within a few weeks which obviously you aren’t going to

Never had it tested in the first trimester only at 36 weeks. And then when I tested positive I had antibiotics during labor to protect baby
