Bottle nipple collapsing?

Sorry for the dumb question but if the nipple is collapsing while baby is drinking from the bottle (avent natural if it matters) does that mean it’s time to size up to the next level nipple? The nipples we have say “1”

I was having the same problem with my 3 week old and she is def not ready for the next size nipple. I think it has something to do with the bottle?! (Same thing would happen with my son who is almost 4 now).
