How to entertain a 1 month old baby?

What do you do with a month old baby when he/she is not asleep? 
My husband stayed with us this whole first month and it was a lot easier to deal with the baby, but now his work and studies begin, so he will be away the whole day from 7am till 11 pm and I have this anxiety about what to do with the baby when I’m not changing the diaper, feed him or when he is not sleeping. I can’t hold him for a long time as he’s heavy and I have some pains. What do you do to keep a baby entertained? Also what do you do to have some spare time when a baby is awake? Thank you all in advance!!

Sing to baby as you sit with him or her. Make lots of eye contact and speak to your little one even if they are being sat in something other than your arms. Read to baby. Rub baby’s back. Give baby a rattle or play with small infant toy in front of baby as you sing and talk. Lots of smiling for baby!

I put my son on his activity mat, read, talk to him allll the time, he loves his bouncer, carrier. I would take him for a walk if I could but it’s extremely cold where I’m at right now. But I like to visit family too. Lots of stuff to do ☺️ but I had to look it up too. If you google it there’s some good ideas and you may even find that you do many of them already without  even realizing it!

Baby wear!! That way you can do things around the house if you need to but you can show them what you are doing and talk to them about it (mommy's putting dishes away, this is a cup, explain what yo u are doing) Read to them, tummy time, go outside and walk, let's of eye contact and snuggles.

I just put my Bruce in his boppy nursing pillow and as long as he's fed changed and napped he usually just listens and looks at me. He's happy to just be with me. This is his automatic rocker when he was 4.5 week's old. He still loves it and he's almost 5 months old.

First off it is NORMAL to be nervous about being alone with your newborn. When my son was younger, he spent a bit of time in his swing because he had colic. Play with stuffed animals, I let him watch these Baby First programs that are educational (my kid isn't even 2 and knows his ABCs, colors, 123s, etc). Honestly at that age it's easier to do stuff you like while watching them. If you have a wrap or carrier, they like to just hang around. Once they get to a certain point, tummy time but that varies for each baby
