Moving?

Question

So I live on Long Island now that I found out I'm expecting I'm seriously considering moving to North Carolina because NY is just too expensive and I don't think I can provide the life I want for my child here but am I crazy to start trying to move and find a new job during my first pregnancy? Also I love NY so the thought of leaving makes me sad.... I'm just confused

I moved off of Long Island myself right when I found out I was pregnant. I was in Suffolk County. We were already planning to move and had a new place lined up, so we decided to stop preventing pregnancy, and it only took two months! And I had moved right before my first midwife appointment. It worked out perfectly and I now happily live upstate NY, and our baby is due any day now! We will be buying a house in the next few years, most likely nearby in PA for lower taxes- but the difference in the cost of living just from LI to upstate is tremendous.

I agree with you. I’m in a similar position . We just found out we are pregnant with our first baby and we are going to move to Florida at some point this year from New York. Ny is really expensive. With child care expenses and space wise we won’t have as much in our tiny apartment
