Giving birth in the ICU?

Question

Does anybody have any experience giving birth in the ICU before? I have a some questions...
- was your baby able to stay with you after delivery or did they try to take them away to the nursery? (Assuming your baby was born heathy) 
- did and OB deliver your baby or an ICU Dr 
- did you have a L&D Nurse there? Or and ICU nurse?

I’ve not had this happen to me... however I’m a RN & worked ICU/CCU for 3 years. Pregnant women NOT in labor were fine to stay in our ICU. Close to labor, they’d go to the labor & delivery floor with an ICU nurse, ONLY if in critical condition requiring life saving medications that only ICU nurses could give. 
Short answer- if in the ICU during labor- you would go to labor & delivery, not stay in ICU.
