So I’m a mother of two had my second child last month and now she 1 month we all had food stamps and medi-cal I don’t work trying to get work but at the same time I don’t trust baby sitters and daycare too many horror stories. Anyways my husband make roughly 350 a week so that’s 1400 a month and we were trying to get on cash aid and we had a interview on my birthday long story short we owe food stamps so we have to pay back the money and me and my husband don’t have medi-cal cuz apparently they go off gross income which they said he made 5000 but I thought I have report if the monthly income changes cuz we only bring home 1400 that we use to pay for rent which is 450 cuz we living with my father in law house ontop of the stuff we need to pay like bills baby diaper food etc some I’m like if my husband is making 5000 from gross income we be able to live on our own but we can’t cuz in actuality we bring home 1400. And the lady was like ur kids might be on medi-cal cuz a family of 4 for the children alone is double so if my husband makes less then 5000 a month my kids can still be on it. So my 1 month had appointment on feb 4 for a sonogram on her hip got a call yesterday she doesn’t have medi- cal so I’m like wtf and they cancel the appointment for her hip I call my case worker too add her couple weeks ago and on the 18 receive a thing in the mail saying she qualifies for medical it all fucking bunch of confusing shit. Ugh and also my husband is a assistant manager full time and doesn’t get no benefits so he thinking of finding a job that has benefits. I left a voicemail to my case worker hopefully I get it situated idc if I don’t have medi- cal but my kids need it and my baby haven’t gotten her shots yet and I’m all stress out. This is why government assistance fucking sucks. We can’t afford child care everyone I know works I don’t drive cause I failed dmv vision and was about to get Scleral contact lense to fix my vision and I have paper for dr too sign and these lens cost 2000 ea but when I had medi-cal it be free cuz it a community clinic but since I probably don’t have it I have too pay 2000. So all of this is making me super damn depressed. Sorry I need to fucking vent.
