What does it mean

My mom and step dad are getting a divorce and I couldn’t be happier but my mom doesn’t have a job and we have to find a place to live the topic of moving into a new place was brought up and she said she may get a 1 bedroom apartment and I could have to room because “I’m a teen and I need my privacy” what does she mean by this. (Btw if we get a 1 bedroom she will definitely get the bedroom she deserves it)
