Anti d?

I had some blood in my discharge on my pad yesterday, it wasn’t bright red it was more brown I rang the hospital and they said they wasn’t too concerned because it wasn’t red fresh blood and I had no pains. They told me to go to my gp and get a swab done. So I’ve been this morning and the doctor told me to tell me midwife about the blood and then my blood type is o rhesus d negative. My midwife has said because it’s not fresh blood I might not need to have anti d but to ring the hospital to check anyway.
