How soon are you letting people meet baby ?

Questioning because in my newborn care class today they were staying not to let anyone around with no flu shots / whooping cough and then they mentioned that baby could die from whooping cough 😩  also are you wanting people to be vaccinated before having them around baby ?

I’m only asking caregivers to be updated on vaccines. Otherwise it’s just wash your hands and no kissing on the face. Toes and hair are fine to kiss.

I’m not requiring anyone to be vaccinated to meet my baby, just want baby’s immune system to be more developed before letting anyone around

We aren’t being overly picky about people visiting, but if anyone even has the sniffles they’re not allowed lol. Also the few people in my family who are heavy smokers- no need to risk any other respiratory stuff especially during flu season!

We're allowing siblings, parents, and a few close friends met him the first week or so.  Everyone else will have to wait. And with the measles outbreak near us the hospital isn't allowing visitors under 12yrs old in the women's health and birth center.

I’m not requesting anyone get their shots updated but if they are sick or feel sick they will absolutely have to wait until they’re better. We’re also not letting people know I’m in labor and will stagger visits in the hospital because I don’t want anyone when we’re home for the first few days.

We’re letting grandparents meet the baby within the first day or so (we’ve also asked them to get flu vaccines/make sure they’re up to date on tdap). Maybe other close family too. Everyone else will be allowed to meet the baby after a few weeks. Having a winter baby means we feel the need to be a little more careful about germs.

Only our siblings and parents can meet him. I’m waiting 1-2 months for everyone else.

We’re waiting at least two weeks simply because we’re not ready for visitors yet, and we’ve made no promises that next weekend (when we hit two weeks) is when they’ll be able to come. I’m not requiring vaccinations but my immediate family does have their flu and whooping cough already
