Going from one to two babies?

Question

I want another baby!! My husband agreed he does too 🙌🏼 our son is 16 months old now. We want to start trying in April/May but I’m also terrified to have 2! Tell me all about going from 1-2 babes. The good, the bad and the ugly.

I have a 1 and 2 year old. 11 months apart exactly lol. Its extremely easy. They both play together since they are extremly close friends now. They sleep in the same crib by choice they even nap for 3 hours together. When they are hyper its alittle crazy lol to calm them down from laughing and screaming loud😂. I never had a hard night or a sleepless night so that's a plus. They take care of each other so amazingly. Im so glad we had them close together.

My two boys, 3 months and ALMOST 2 years old (20 months apart).

The Good:
- my oldest is so sweet with his little brother he always wants to help out and play with little brother.
- schedules are not too far apart considering their age, so that’s nice.  I’m also within the lucky few where my babies slept through the night by 1 month old on their own.
- I do not have to worry about school schedules, set times, etc.  Gives me the flexibility to go with their set schedules rather than my own.
- I had all the baby stuff already because my oldest had just finished with it!  So no long term storage and cleaning!
 
Bad:
- my son is hitting his terrible twos right when I had my youngest.  Not a fun stage BUT I feel it doesn’t matter their age, there is always a fun stage to deal with 🤷‍♀️
- PREGNANCY... so this will differ person to person, but O. m. g....  the smell of my sons poopy diapers had me vomiting.  Not fun.  I was exhausted but my son was no longer napping like he use to, so that was tough.  My son wasn’t old enough to really know what was really going on.  Took a few weeks for him to realize that new baby wasn’t going anywhere LOL.
- Guilt... I felt like I wasn’t giving my oldest the time and energy he deserved because I was focused on my youngest.  It can be a hard balance, so be sure hubby is up for the challenge too.
 
Look... there is NOT a perfect time to have that sibling.  If you feel you’re ready for those tough first few months WITH a toddler, go for it.  It’s never super easy in my opinion, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
