Snickerdoodle cashewmilk ice cream 😢

Leah

Last night I decided to let my 9 month old daughter take a taste of my ice cream. This was meant to be a treat.... ended up not so much!

Within minutes my sweet girl had a bumpy rash all around her mouth and on her hands. Nothing was swelling and her breathing was fine, she was acting completely like herself other than this allergic reaction. I immediately gave her Benadryl and called the on call pediatrician.

💔 I’m a FTM, my husband was away for work and I’m a nervous wreck.

The doctor said Benadryl every 6 hours, keep and eye on her and absolutely no contact with nuts until she is allergy tested which we will talk about at her appointment this month.

What surprises me most is, I’ve given her peanut bitter, and she has had bites of my cereal (with almond coconut milk) and has had no reaction. This is why I thought cashew ice cream was safe. I’m starting to think it could be cinnamon rather than nuts. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Does anyone have any similar stories? Any insight on what my girl is allergic to?
