More ultrasounds??

So I had my 20 week ultrasound and am wondering if I’ll have any more? They didn’t schedule me for one so I’m worried I don’t get to see my baby girl until she is born!

Probably not until 36 weeks to check baby’s position, only if they have a hard time telling if baby is head down. We paid for a 3D ultrasound at 30 weeks last time because I was too impatient to see baby again! 💙

That’s typical. Usually the 20 week scan is the last one. My doctor scheduled one more for me at 32 weeks because my baby is measuring big. So she wants to check the growth again at 32 weeks. I also plan on paying for a 3D/4D/5D ultrasound around that time too. Want to get some cute shots of baby girls face 😍

I'm getting another one at the 26 weeks but thats because baby wouldnt cooperate at my 20 week scan and they thought he might have a defect in his stomach. I would have much rather only had the one at 20 weeks and had everything be perfect and not have to go back in because now I'm stressing.

I think the 20 week anatomy scan is the last ultrasound unless you're high risk. but you can always pay for one at a private ultrasound place if you just want to see baby :) it's usually around 100$ or so, depending on the place

My last one was my 20 week ultrasound too. The OB told me since baby was in the right track and everything looked good I didn’t need another one unless a problem popped up. So I’m going for an elective one next weekend and that’ll be it for me seeing baby until he’s born 🤞🏻

Probably not unless theres any issues or they need to check on things before birth. The 20 week is the last one scheduled with my doctor and I've heard that a lot too. I've read some will do it at like 34 weeks to check the babys position but I dont think its standard.

This is routine practice, if everything’s okay/healthy you’ll likely only get one ultrasound around 20 weeks. I only got 1 ultrasound total with my first son, and 2 with my second BUT only because he was hiding where his cord insert was so we had to come back a few weeks after my 20wk scan. You can always pay out of pocket for an u/s at an outside place if you’d like.
