Tooth help

My 11th month old is teething. I looked at his gums today and noticed that the top right side where his big tooth will be is very swollen and red. The bottom of the gum on a corner has a white/yellow spot. I ran my finger on it but I don’t feel a tooth. I’m thinking it looks like a possible abscess. Maybe he cut his gum on a bottom tooth or something he was chewing on? I will take him to the doctor tomorrow. Wanting to know if anyone has experienced anything similar or had any advice?
