Clearblue Connected Ovulation Test: Confusing Results?

I’ve been using the Clearblue Connected ovulation test kit for a week and had no trouble syncing it, etc. I started testing two days after my period ended. It was negative the first day (Monday) and then has been “blinking smiley” (high LH but not peak) since Tuesday. I’m already kind of skeptical of these ovulation tests because I found the cheap paper ones difficult to decipher and my cycle lengths have been all over the place. My assumption was that if these were working correctly I would see a blinking smiley for a few days and then solid smiley (peak). Thoughts?
