Natural birth?

What’s your opinion on a natural birth? How much did it hurt? Do you wish you would’ve gotten an epidural?

I was induced at 41+3 and delivered my baby boy without any pain medication. It was hard and painful and pretty amazing! My husband was such a help to me. He reminded me to breathe and reminded me that the contractions were only temporary. We were both so tired since it was the middle of the night. Exhaling with sound (kind of like yoga breathing) really helped me deal with the pain. I spent the last 3 hours in the tub and it was wonderful! If you have that option do it! Then I pushed for about 20 minutes and finally he was born just before 3am. 
It was definitely the most pain I've ever felt, but no I don't wish I got an epidural. I'm glad I was able to do it naturally like I wanted to. It was a very primal instinctual experience. And I walked from labour and delivery to our room after taking a shower by myself. Which was nice. I exercised at least 5 times a week throughout my entire pregnancy and I'm sure that helped me have the strength and endurance I needed. Women are strong and amazing! Our bodies are made for it and it's an incredible feeling!
However someone decides to give birth is great though! A healthy mom and baby is the goal and everyone has a different experience and pain tolerance. What works for one person might not work for someone else and that's just fine. 🙂

I always wanted to go natural but I always told myself it depends how my labor goes. If it’s progressing or just standing still. I did want the epidural at one point because the contractions were getting stronger and closer. Right before I was going to get the epidural they checked me twice. I went from 3 centimeters to fully dilated within minutes. The nurses said to just try and push without the epidural since you’re already fully dilated. So I ended up delivering naturally. Pushing him out didn’t hurt, it actually felt really relieving. I never felt the “ring of fire” some women feel. What hurt the most was the cramping (contractions). But the more I pushed the less pain I felt.

10 hours of Labor Natural and unmedicated with no tearing and quick recovery. Beautiful experience having a high tolerance for pain. Planning to do Natural and unmedicated again this time around as well. I believe walking a lot while I was pregnant helped the first time. I have HG this pregnancy so I’ve been basically stuck in bed 😩.

I’ve had two natural births ♥️ one 33 hour labor, one 15 hour labor. 
It’s hard! It’s not an easy thing. I tore with both kids 🙈 But when I weighed the risks versus benefits of an epidural, I decided that natural was the best option for me. It’s the only way I want to birth!
Natural feels so empowering, and there’s something almost sacred about working with your body, through the pain, to bring baby earthside.

My plan was to go natural but I couldn’t handle the pain and got an epidural. Still regret it to this day. Hoping to go natural the second time around 🤞🏽

I had to be induced, and contractions came had and fast. I wanted to try and do natural but only made it till 5cm and needed the epidural. I'm glad I got it though because it helped me relax and get some rest. I heard natural hurts so much worse, but the recovery goes so smoothly. I'm going to try and do natural with my next, but we will see what happens.

I had a natural birth and plan to do it that way again in the future. While it was the most intense pain I’ve ever felt, it was also the most beautiful and empowering experience of my life. 
I was SO tired as I went into labor late one evening and was in labor for over 24 hours, but somehow you find the strength you need to pull through.
For me, I do not regret it. I do not like the feeling of numbness and being confined to one place. 
Take it one contraction at a time, breathe and move as much as you can

I had a 14 hour labor. No pain medication. I don’t wish I used an epidural or anything. I loved being completely in the moment. The experience hurts and is the most intense thing I’ve EVER done. But it was also totally great and I loved how alert my baby and I were after birth.
To survive a “natural” birth, you really need to make sure you have great support with you and around you.

When I had my son he came 3 weeks early and I asked the Dr if I could have the epidural and they turned me down cause I have a tethered spinal cord and scoliosis. With them not knowing where a safe place was to place the epidural they weren't going to risk paralyzing me. So we went all natural and my labor only lasted 4 hours and I pushed for all of 14 minutes. This time around I have a plan in place and we are way more prepared for a all natural labor, but if I have to have a C-section then they will have to put me completely under which is terrifying to me.
