Umm confused

Ok so me and my boyfriend were both virgins and well he was fingering me and I bled. Not like period... and well I’m pretty sure it was my hymen that broke. And I’m confused because i didn’t think that was possible. It wasn’t planned or anything it kinda just happened. Most people think that when your hymen breaks you aren’t a virgin.... so I guess my question is that can your hymen break from fingering?
