What to do when a guy doesn’t respond back?

I’d appreciate advice and opinions by anyone. This might seem stupid but I don’t usually get this invested in guys bc I have always had trust issues. So if your talking to a guy and you have great convos but they don’t respond after something I said, does that mean he isn’t interested anymore or just doesn’t know what to say. I’ll give u a run down. So Friday I’m going to a volleyball game and he’s on one of the teams. The girls and guys are separated but we can still talk to them. He hurt his back and can’t play, so I said I hope you feel better. He told me how he hurt his back,, by skiing. I love skiing too. We were talking about the hill he fell on and I responded “that hill always gets me too, but you tried😂. I snuck on to a couple when I was only a green hill but I managed.” He saw it fast but didn’t respond to it. Maybe adding the last part was a mistake🤦🏻‍♀️. I wanted to ask him to hang when his back is better. But I feel like that’s too “weird” or “clingy” especially bc he didn’t respond to it. I’m younger and haven’t had many relationships but I’m interested in this guy😭
