Which is correct?
So I saw a comment on another poll where a user said “I could care less,” and another user commented, correcting her to “I couldn’t care less.” Google says both can be correct and mean the same thing, basically that someone cares so little about something they could literally not care any less OR that someone cares very little (but overall same meaning). To me, if you can care less....so that means you have a bit of caring left, so it’s not the same or “as bad” as saying I couldn’t care less. Apparently, couldn’t care less is the proper/dominant form, but could care less has been around since the 60s and has been steadily gaining ground. So....what do you think? Which one do you say? Does it bother you if someone says it the other way?
