Why does the let down hurt so much !

When I’m breastfeeding my baby about 29 seconds into him latching I feel my milk coming down and it’s excruciating for like 30 seconds I can barley breathe through it nearly makes me cry, is that normal? It makes me want to stop breastfeeding :( didn’t happen at first

What does it feel like? Mine is like a really sharp stinging pain in my nipples that lasts maybe 15 seconds or so. It feels like pins/needles. It def hurts but it doesn’t take my breath away? Not sure if you’re experiencing the same thing?

I'd ask a lactation consultant. Mine is uncomfortable, but not necessarily painful. Especially not excruciating.

I had this kind of pain and I soaked in an Epsom salt bath on my stomach and hand expressed some in the bath. I think I had a clogged duct. It's much less painful now.

Mine doesn’t hurt that bad.... so I would say no? Ask your OB for sure.

Yes it’s normal if it’s only for 30 or so seconds. I had the same thing, went away by like 4ish weeks.
