Let’s say you just moved to a new state, you’re making new friends.. you meet a really nice couple and hang out and hit it off, they have cats, you have dogs... the girl then tells you she and her husband don’t watch dogs for people.

They have no problem hanging out and being friends and generally everything else that is normal in friendships.. but if you leave town or need someone to watch your dog, they can’t help you. (Except in emergency situations)

They’re reason is simply that they are not dog people and they’ve been roped into watching all their friends’ dogs before and have just made the decision not to do it anymore. (Side note: the husband is allergic to dogs)
