Did you lose weight when you stopped breastfeeding?

I’m six months into my breastfeeding journey and can’t seem to lose weight! Even with healthy eating and exercise. I’m getting discouraged and thinking it might be bc I’m breastfeeding? Still going to breastfeed until baby is a year old but wondering if others lost weight when they weaned their babies?

I actually lost quite a bit of weight while I was breastfeeding, but it’s different for different women.

surprisingly i gained weight while breast feeding i must be in the 10% who gained instead of lost weight...knce i stopped i lost all gge babyweight.. i think bc i wasnt try to eat to keep up supply and couched everytime i nursed and pumped so more time to move ... i was so drained from pumping  and nursing around the clock too that all i did was pray for naps between .... so after 3 months of slowly going crazy with not keeping up supply and never ending pumping/nursing  i switch to formula  and sanity came back

I’ve read this can happen to a small number of women. Your body stores up calories to make sure it has enough to breastfeed your baby. I could not lose weight with my first while breastfeeding, but when I stopped I lost 15lbs in the first couple of months. With my second I had to workout really hard to lose weight, still didn’t lose 7lbs before getting pregnant again but definitely proud of myself for losing 25.

I ep’d for 11 months. The whole time i couldnt lose last ten pounds! I would say 6 or so weeks after i stopped pumping the weight peeled off soo easily. When i restarted my low dose bcp i lost another 5 pounds.
