Is it okay if my two month old sleeps on his belly in his bassinet (no cushioning or blankets) if I'm right beside him, wide awake, and not leaving his side?

Some are really strong and can already hold there head up. I was told if they can do that then it would be ok.

If the baby can turn over, it's fine. They will go whichever way they feel comfortable anyway. And by that point the SIDS risk is decreased because they have more mobility. But at 2 months it's still quite high Bc they are not as mobile. If you aren't leaving your baby's side it's fine, but if there's a chance you'd fall asleep or need to leave the room, I'd turn the baby over.

It's okay, my daughter is five months old and she's a stomach sleeper. Every time I try to roll her on her back she rolls back or cries. She does have good head control and can move it to the side.

My baby just started turning over on her own. She started by sleeping on her side when I put her on her back in her crib. She turns over almost instantly when I put her in her crib on her back. My pediatrician said not to worry, it will drive me crazy trying to keep turning her to her back. She is doing just what is natural. I do go in her room and check on her frequently through the night to check her breathing but the doc said she should be ok.
