When baby engages...

Question

Can you feel it? I've heard people describe it as feeling like your hips are breaking or like baby is about to fall out, but I am 38 weeks 2 days and have yet to feel this way. At 36 weeks he was not engaged. Everyone thought he was but I've been carrying super low my whole pregnancy. My belly has always been in my lap. So going off appearance won't work for me. I'm looking for signs I can feel. Also, I don't waddle when I walk. Is that a sure sign of engagement? I'm worried I'll have to have a c-section. He might be refusing to come out. Lol

I know all too well what this feels like! Literally like your pelvis and vagina are about to crack open! And when I walk I feel like my baby might fall out. Been feeling this way for almost two weeks! So ready to get this show on the road! Good luck!

My baby never would engage. They kept trying to pull his head down into the birth canal but he kept popping back up. I had to push while laying on my side with one leg straight and one curled up. Which, oddly enough, worked. As for your question, yes I felt him when he did engage, even fully numb from an epidural!

Before my back hurt so bad. Once she engaged I felt a lot of pressure in my butt and my hips started to hurt more, but my back feels so much better. I also have a hard time emptying my bladder all the way

Can baby drop and then un-drop? I was sure mine had, I could basically feel him punching my cervix and my pubic bone and whole pelvis was in pain. But I woke up this morning and felt like he was kicking me in the chest again! What the heck, no!!!!!

I'm 39 weeks and 6 days and my hips hurt so bad! It feels like there is pressure in the front and back and it's been that way for 2 weeks.

I'm 39 weeks today and my hips feel like there going to pop out of place every time I walk or stand or do anything! They pop like crazy and it hurts to lay down and I waddle more then a duck. My daughter is definitely dropped & I go in tomorrow night at 8 to be induced!

I was wondering the same thing. I'm 39 weeks today and don't feel like he has dropped. I'm gonna try more waking once it stops raining...cleaning counts right lol?

Yep... Mine has been down there for weeks now, I'm 40 weeks today! Bounce on a yoga ball, do cat/cow stretches on knees/elbows to help get him in position! :) my lady parts feel like they're being stretched to the max already and hips hurt sooo bad, when it happens, you'll feel it!!
