Do you think social media/smartphones are becoming an issue?

Not really controversial, but was just curious what you guys think.

I honestly think that yes it is. So many people's lives are dictated by it. We post pictures, life updates, our food, etc. We wake up and check our phones. We go to the bathroom with our phones, we shop with them, we literally do everything with them. Our KIDS are glued to IPADS and PHONES and now tons and tons of them are traumatized by the new thing called Momo. I saw a video of Momo and it was definitely fucked up so I feel awful for those kids. Plus the videos that are popping up on YouTube Kids teaching kids how to "cut this way for attention and this way for results". The older kids are doing stupid challenges for a video or selfie and getting hurt/killed. Young pre-teens/teens are meeting strangers that they talked to online and are getting hurt. As well as dressing/acting way too old. Look at TikTok. Millions of examples there. Plus, there's much less social interaction. People will literally scroll through social media while having a conversation with someone. Pretty much telling whoever you're physically with that they're less important than whoever/whatever is in your phone. Or the fact that COMPLETE strangers AND friends have some type of entitlement to completely bully and harass others simply because of opposing views. Or the fact that the media can completely conquer and divide especially through social media. It's like we're all addicted or brainwashed. Think about this. Google has your voice, your picture, everything about you (because we put everything out there)our phones have our fingerprints, they can scan our face, and even our eyes. Siri is always listening too. It's getting weird in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing to have this technology and the ability to know anything at any point in time, but I personally feel like this is too much. Opinions?
