Tummy time HELP?!?

Question

My baby hates tummy time, she’s fine for a few minutes then starts screaming, she’s just shy of 3mo and can’t roll over yet, I don’t want her motor skills to get worse. What can I do?

A few things :) 
1) it’s fine to do tummy time in Increments. If she will only do it for 2-3 minutes thats fine. Let her do it for a few minutes and then pick her up abd then do it again later. You can do it several times a day for short periods of time as long as it adds up to about 20-30 minutes total. 
2)Babies don’t need to start rolling until about 5 months so don’t panic. She still has time. Right now tummy time is mostly to build up her ability to hold he head up. I’d download the Wonder Weeks App. It tells you specifically what your baby should be learning to do that week. And it tells you when to expect fussy days because they are growing (they call them leaps- but it means growth spurt). It’s super helpful so I always know what to expect and it gives you games and ideas to help your baby develop during that week. 
3)There are lots of ways to make it more engaging. My doctor recommended me laying on my back on the floor and putting my baby on my belly (so our bellies were touching) and do tummy time this way once or twice a day for 5-10 minutes. When we were belly to belly, I’d sing with him and talk to him and he’d stay that way a long time! He didn’t seem to mind at all. Baby wearing is also a form of tummy time in that baby’s engaged their core muscles and neck muscles when they are in a baby carrier without even knowing it. So going on a walk once a day for 10 minutes with baby in their carrier can be considered tummy time. Also, they have play mats and toys designed For tummy time that your baby may like! So maybe google those and see if you like any. We got a water matt my baby liked to lay on and squish around. Good luck

Mine is the same way. Last week I decided to shorten tummy time and do it multiple times a day (8 minutes, 3x a day). It's really helped. I also have a couple of toys she likes nearby. Today she got her butt so far up she almost flipped

Cant really help but i will say my daughter hated it and we barely did tummy time. She would lay on my stomach though. Around 3 4 months is when she really started rolling over was sitting up unassisted by 5.5 months. Have you tried getting down with her or using some toys to keep her entertained?

Put her on your chest or wear her. It’s all about working those upper chest and neck muscles so as long as she’s working it doesn’t really matter where she’s doing it. Or if you can only do 5 minutes a day, then do 5 minutes a day. It’ll be okay 😊
