When did you first travel (long distance) with your baby after they were born?

I’m due early September with my first, and we’re on for Thanksgiving with my family in Texas this year, but it’s a minimum 2 hour flight and a 18 hour car ride to get there.

I’m terrified at the thought of flying with a 2-month old, especially with how fragile their immune systems are and how many illnesses could be on a plane. But also, 18 hours in a car with a breastfeeding newborn sounds like absolute hell.

When did you first travel with your newborns?

Now, it’s not do-or-die if we don’t make it to Texas this year for Thanksgiving, but I would love to see all my family, have all my siblings finally meet our baby, and escape my in-laws who live 20 minutes from where me and my husband live 😅 (also, the in-laws’ Thanksgiving consists of salad, veggies, a bland turkey, and sugar free desserts. That’s it. Absolute monsters. I like flavor and variety and my family’s recipes, dangit 😂).
