Are baby dopplers safe?

I really want to get one to ease my nerves and be able to hear baby’s heart beat, but my husband thinks it’s a bad idea and too much ultrasound waves could harm the baby since the FDA advises against it? Any one have any idea!? Thanks!!

I used mine at least 2x a day from 12-30 weeks...now that I know her movements I don’t use it much but my OBGYN said it was totally fine to use, it’s just sound

The doppler i have is FDA approved. Just make sure the website you’re getting it from specifies that.

Make sure it’s an approved one that you get.
In general LMC’s advise NOT getting a Doppler as you’re not trained to find the heartbeat, and you’d put unnecessary stress on yourself if you couldn’t find the heartbeat 🤷🏻‍♀️

I loved having the fetal doppler at home!! They just recommend to not have one cuz it can induce panic or make you worry if you cant find the heartbeat yourself. I couldnt find his heartbeat till 13 weeks but he was so active, I could hear his little kicks and movement earlier than 13 weeks.

My dr uses one when we don’t do a full on ultrasound 🤷🏻‍♀️
