Oh. My. God. The pain! About 5 years ago I accompanied a friend to get her copper iud inserted. I held her hand while the gyno did the procedure. My friend squeezed my hand hard on the painful parts, so I knew to expect that. And afterwards, she felt really nauseous and really uncomfortable that she could feel it inside of her. And now I just got one inserted and have to say the pain is worse than I anticipated based on my friend's experience. It's like period cramps from hell! And my doctor said the cramps from insertion can last up to 3 months! Good Lord!! So basically I'm just being a cry baby right now and looking for some validation and fellow women to let me know I'm not alone and they have felt this pain before, too.
