Is there a “let’s talk kids rooms” group?

I’d honestly like to see how you guys decorate your kids rooms because these nurseries look like they are out of magazines!

I've been browsing for something where "cuteness" and "theme" are not the priorities. I have no interest in decorating a nursery for looks, but rather for comfort, convenience, and practicality. I will not be hanging pictures or anything like that. Not painting the walls or putting wallpaper. Curtains are a nightmare for with a crawling baby, so are knicknacks and lamps, and ornaments. Shelves on the wall make me nervous. I fill a nursery for my baby, not myself. I want it to feel like his/her home, and perfectly matched, painted, organised magazine wanna-be crap does not feel like home to me. Nobody seems to want to post anything if they aren't trying to win Pinterest, don't know why I bother looking anymore.
